E and A on train back to Paris
The high speed train back from Nice to Paris starts out at slow speed along the Riveria for three very scenic hours.

We went to a Flea Market in Nice this morning, and Emily bought a bunch of sixties Mod sunglasses. Fun

Ariel bought some weird dragon trinkets. That's her US phone (7135, yea!) on the right, and my elbow and stomach in the background.

The train went along the Riveria sometimes right on the water, and sometimes through farms (presumeably farms owned by very rich people).

Before Ariel and Emily conk out, a snap of me. Product placement on the right.

Pondering the meaning of life? We've turned off the coast, and are now going north, sped up to high speed.

Back in Paris, Emily gives Ariel a photo op at the disgusting hall bathroom outside her sixth floor walkup.

My new hotel room (same hotel, a few blocks away from Em's apt.) is on the sixth floor this time. This one is a very small room looking out onto a lovely concrete shaft. Only here for one night, though, so NBD.

Emily in the Metro. Dazed and Confused... Thinking about packing to leave... Sleep deprivation brought on by hanging out with Ariel is getting to her, here.

Yes, six floors! That'll wake you up.

Our last day in Paris. Still with the Paris light. Time to slog down the six flights of steps (did I mention that?) to Steve's hotel room with Emily's overflow bags.

Ok, we're done packing now, and Emily and Ariel walk over to my hotel to deliver (stage) the luggage. We took back two giant bags of her accumulated stuff.

In the cab to Charles de Gaulle Airport, I give Ariel the evil eye. Don't remember why.

Goodbye to France! I think that is Normandy down there. Ariel always gets the window seat, no fair!

Exhausted. Ariel can't believe she has to go back to school tomorrow. She still hasn't changed her phone message ("I'm in France..."), three months after our return.

It's not over, yet, though! There was a unscheduled stop in St. Johns when someone on the plane got very sick. Here's the "point" -- the most eastern point of the North Amreican Continent.

Three hours delayed, we missed our connection, and got home to NM very late that night, instead of the early afternoon. A little drama that was a fitting end for our great adventure. The End.
